SPORTSEM was created in response to the needs of the sector and designed to support sport for social change.
Established by SPORTSEM Innolab, SPORTSEM fellowship was formed to take organisations through necessary steps towards forming a strong network among sports organisations, sportsperson, associations and clubs towards launching income-generating Social Enterprises.

SPORTSEM’s focus is to be a change and transformational agent on solving the Malaysia’s sports development and enterprising culture in pursue to create competitive competencies amongst the organisation. We are focused in assisting the cultural change within the organisation by way of providing awareness, knowledge, resources and know-how for the purpose to deliver high performing sportsperson in Malaysia while establishing a sustainable and financially associations and clubs
SPORTSEM’s Journey
The idea of emphasising the development of Sports Social Enterprise development one stop centre has been in discussion since 2010 among sports development enthusiasts from Malaysian National Sports Council (NSC), SPORTSEM founder and sports industry professionals. Co-created through the discussion with key sports development individuals in Malaysia, we mapped a long-term transformation process with the aim to build a competitive and high performing sports talent developing institutions in Malaysia. Over the years, through further research and critical understanding on Malaysia’s sports development, SPORTSEM has been setup in order to achieve the objective of acting as platform for Sports Social Enterprise development.
SPORTSEM Vision
Our vision is to be the leading platform for sports social enterprise launchpad and one stop centre in Malaysia. At SPORTSEM, we aspire to be a The Enterprise Hub that acts as a catalyst to provide innovative approach in offering workshops, networking events, training opportunities, competitions through enabling sports organisations across all Malaysian Sports association, clubs and businesses to explore their entrepreneurial skills. Instilling awareness through social enterprise management culture as the way forward would be a trailblazing effort to encourage these organisations to diverse their funding strategy.

SPORTSEM Steering Board of Directors
SPORTSEM's Steering Board of Directors (SSBD) are represented by successful individuals from various background of sports and industrial spectrum. We are pleased to have our directors who are dedicated, every ready to share their expertise and experience for the development of sports industry in particular of sports social enterprise that focuses in building national sports community. SPORTSEM Steering Board of Directors (SSBD) are our advisory and governance members who are from various sports related background including academicians, sports industry practitioners, sports science and management, as well as sports association leaders.
Our SSBD team are from those who are passionate and have deep enthusiasm in contributing towards national sports development. They come from various part of Malaysia including from the East of Malaysia - Sarawak.

We are proud to share that collectively, SPORTSEM brings more than 130 years of international and local sports and industry related experience to the nation to build a strong social based sports development that supports sports talent, community and industry growth.
Organisations SPORTSEM Working Partners
We believe the scope and potential, or Sport Social Enterprise is enormous! For this reason, SPORTSEM works with various groups that have deep interest in Malaysian sports development. We work with National Sports Council (NSC), Faculty of Sports & Sports Business Unit (SBU), UiTM, Oxentia Innovation Global Consultancy, Oxford University, and many others to support and get support for resources, funding and research.
We engage with Local Authority, Community Councils and local/national groups to enable organsations to identify local and national priorities that influence their own programmes and in turn identify outcomes and tangible measures. Our key focus is to understanding the social impacts and how to measure/represent them as this is the main challenges for most organisation to quantify their efforts.
